Paul Samson RIP...
Paul Samson the guitarist and founder member of the band Samson sadly lost his battle with cancer on Friday the 9th of August. As both a musician and a person Paul was totally - 100 per cent the real deal and his passing will be a great loss to the U.K's Rock music scene. Personally, I will always remember with great fondness a gig we did at the Royal Standard in Walthamstow when Paul got up and played guitar and I played bass for a storming version of Hendrix's 'Voodoo Chile' - it was great. We also shared the bill at the Town And Country Club in London for one of 'Guitarist Magazines' charity nights - he again played brilliantly.
Our Sincere condolences to Paul's family and close friends. Any donations on Paul's behalf should be sent to Cancer Research UK - www.cancerresearchuk.org

The IGF Bath
The yearly visit to the International Guitar Festival in Bath is now over and it was certainly the biggest and best ever. Phil had a great time teaching one half of the Rock level 2 class for the week. The 25 or so students in the class were great fun to be with and ranged in age from 11 to 50! The weeks teaching ended up with them all performing live at the Michael Tippet Centre on the closing night as part of the 'Night Of 1000 Guitars' concert. They Rocked!...

Sad News
It is with great sadness that we have heard the news of the sudden, tragic passing of founder Who member and bassist extraordinaire John Entwistle. Phil had the pleasure of working with John on a couple of occasions - the first was at a British Music Fair live demo for Rotosound strings/Heart guitars at Alexandra Palace in 1987 and the other time was at Wembley Conference Centre in 1993 along with Nicko McBrain and Andy Frost. John's passing will be an immense loss to the world of Rock. Our sincere condolences go out to his family and close friends.

Pete Jacobsen RIP...
Phil, Pete and Jason are very sad to hear the recent news of the passing of keyboardist extraordinaire Pete Jacobsen who died suddenly on Monday 29th April after a very short illness aged 51.

Although not exactly a household name Pete was nonetheless one of the most respected and talented keyboard players this country has ever produced. He had played on all of Lee Hodgsons GTCD country sessions here at WM Studios as well as the track ‘Funk-Orona’ that Lee composed for the Fret-King guitars 2001 compilation CD and that was produced by Phil.

Over the years Pete also played many Jazz gigs with him and he'd had high hopes of working with him in the future.

His passing is a real loss to this country’s musical community. We would like to offer our sincere condolences to his family; he will be greatly missed…
