Queen Live DVD
In the up-coming Queen 'Queen Rock Montreal' DVD there is a link to a NPI lesson that Phil has just completed of the song 'Love Of My Life'. Also on the site is another version of the song again with chords added by Phil - this one is a solo Brian May version taken from the recent Queen with Paul Rogers tour.

Drummer Live
Thanks a lot to everyone who came out to see us at Drummer live at Excel yesterday. The band line-up was Nicko McBrain, Phil, Peter Eldridge, Chris Teeder and bassist Alex Meadows. We played a set that included Burn, Gates Of Babylon, Run To The Hills, Moby Dick and also a couple of new original tracks Frogman and Never Satisfied. We had a great time!

Guitar Techniques DVD
In the December 07 issue of Guitar Techniques magazine there is a 40 minute video feature with Phil on the accompanying DVD. The video was shot at Phils studio and during it Phil guides you through 10 classic guitar riffs in detail. Check it out!

Now Play It Tracks
There are 4 new Queen videos/tracks - available for download - all transcribed and edited by Phil - on the NoPlayIt.com website. The 4 songs are 'It's A Kind Of Magic', Fat Bottomed Girls', 'One Vision' and 'I Want It All'. Essentially, they are the original Queen videos with chord diagrams overlain against the video - it's a great way to learn songs!.

The review of Phil's 'Signature' PHFTB pedal has just been published in this months 'Guitarist' magazine - July 2007 issue. It got a 'Guitarist Choice' award too! and 5 stars for sound!

This months Guitar Buyer Magazine (June 07) features a 4 page in-depth review of Phil's signature pedal and Phil is also the subject of the magazines 'Tone Zone' feature where they look at his current pedal board as used at this years London Guitar Show. Check it out! . . . .

Steve Vai Masterclass Questions
Phil has had quite a few comments about the questions that were asked at the two masterclasses he did with Steve Vai at this years LGS – So, to clear up any confusion please note that: All the questions that were asked were originally sent in by email to the LGS website by visitors to the site, and the list had been seen and O.K.'d by Steve and his manager prior to the show. Also, how they were answered either by Steve playing or just talking was left entirely up to Steve.
Steve and Phil both enjoyed the classes anyway!

London Guitar Show'
We had a great time playing at this years show. The band featured Nicko McBrain, Andy Frost, Pete Eldridge and Chris Teeder. Our guests were Geoff Whitehorn, Uli Jon Roth, Peter Johansson and Mazz Murray from WWRY and on the Sunday Bruce Dickinson sang with us too.
The set we played featured 2 brand new songs that we had not played live before – ‘Live Your Own Life’ and ‘If There’s A God?’ plus lots of other classic rock songs including ‘Gates Of Babylon’ and the now traditional show closer of ‘Run To The Hills’. Big thanks to everyone who turned out to see us!

Channel 4/T4 'MusiCool'
On Good Friday Phil had the entire cast, crew and also the MD Mike Dixon over at his studio for the whole day to film a rock style re-working of the song 'Dirrty' for the program. The program airs on Sundays at 12.45 and the edition with Phil and the studio in should be shown on either the 15th or 22nd of April on Ch4/T4

New ‘Phil Hilborne Signature’ Pedal
Phil has been working recently on a signature pedal with Spanish company Thunder Tomate - www.thundertomate.com The pedal is a ‘fat treble booster’ which offers a lot more control over frequency/eq and gain than a conventional treble booster does – it sounds great!. Limited quantities will be available exclusively via our online store and Phil's clinics/gigs from around the beginning of April.

Native Instruments Endorsement
Phil has just signed an endorsement deal with German software company Native Instruments. Currently he is using their ‘Guitar Rig 2’, B4 2 Hammond Organ and Akoustik piano regularly in his studio.

‘Bath Guitar Festival’
For the first time in 8 years Phil is not doing the Bath IGF – there is too much going on to get the time to do it. Also, there are no plans (or funding) for any NYRO this year either – which is a great shame. Hopefully this situation will change soon.

Phil Hosting ‘Steve Vai Masterclass’
Phil is hosting 2 masterclass sessions with Steve Vai at this years London Guitar Show on Sat 28th of April at 12.30pm and 2.00pm.

UK Clinic Tour
The yearly clinic tour of the Academy Of Music and Sound centres is now over.
Phil had a great time and was very impressed by the general high standard of the pupils – especially in Scotland – nice one!

BBC1 ‘When Will I Be Famous’
On the 15th of Feb Phil recorded the guitars for Van Halens ‘Jump’ and Queens ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ for the BBC1 talent show ‘When Will I Be Famous’. The show aired on the 17th feb and two young drumming brothers - Richard and Peter Rayner - played along to the tracks.
